Less Chaos, More Flow - My Journey Scaling a Small Business

Over the past decade, I've mastered the art of transforming chaos into order, turning innovative ideas into thriving businesses. As part of this journey, I've developed a unique approach to entrepreneurship that balances creativity with strategy. Now, I'm inviting you to join me behind the scenes to explore the systems and processes that drive success.

If you're an entrepreneur seeking to build or transform a business that brings order to your chaos and grants you the freedom to flow creatively, you're in the right place. Together we'll dive into the practices that foster creative growth within a structured framework, ensuring alignment and strategic success.

THE creative freedom of a small business launched me into the journey of a lifetime…

Growing up I always had a drive to work very hard to achieve success and I was naturally pulled into leadership roles. I had many achievements to be proud of but something was always missing.

I knew I always wanted to be in charge of my time, my work approach, and doing something creative. I'm really good at structure and strategy which made me most successful in other environments, but creating is when I feel most aligned.

OUR BUSINESS SCALED FAST AND SOON I FOUND MYSELF WITH MORE CHAOS AND LESS flow.

Who knew a restaurant in a rural area could grow so fast. We started out as renters and then property owners, grew from five tables to thirty-six, and a team of five to almost thirty. And all the while, I was working a high-demand corporate position.

On the surface, everything seemed perfect, but behind the scenes, I was surviving on chaos and focusing my time creatively, because that's what I enjoyed. I knew everything about strategy, but never consistently audited and aligned my structure to our scaling operations which was consistently demanding more of me instead of less.

THEN, I STARTED TO BLEND STRUCTURE WITH alignment.

After feeling like I could no longer live in the chaos and there must be another way, I started to audit where I felt most aligned in my business. Part of why I wanted to be an entrepreneur was to create. With all the success we had, the structure I had in place for a small start-up was no longer allowing me the freedom to get creative.

A SEVEN FIGURE SIDE HUSTLE…

I started to evaluate if a business of this scale was even what I wanted. I believe that we should all be leaving things better than how we found them, and frankly I was disappointed at how much chaos was surrounding my business and it was feeling misaligned. While I was embracing and proud the growth, I knew there had to be a more sustainable way with less stress and sacrifice. So I started to get intentional about how I was doing things in this new season and how I could make them better.

I WAS BLOCKING MY OWN creativity….

I highly discourage trying to scale a business, work a corporate gig, and raise a family. While I was used to chaos, I decided this season of my life was demanding less of it and more freedom to flow with the demands of motherhood. I needed to be a more present mother and I craved more creativity. I decided to go all in on Craft Coffee House and apply my knowledge from the military and corporate to create a new structure in the business. After all it was actively providing an income stream for nearly 30 people and generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax revenue for our local community.

I started taking steps towards getting back into alignment for how to run my business in its current season. I could envision the end-goal and set clear objectives to achieve those goals. I had the skills and strategies from my corporate and military career, I had just never put such structure around my business because the growth had never demanded it. I held myself accountable for following a calendar and a plan. Guess what? I made it out of the darkness of chaos.

I LEARNED THAT TRUE LEADERSHIP IS holding a light in the dark SO OTHERS CAN SEE THE PATH FORWARD.

We scaled fast and furious through force, not flow. When I realized the structure I put in place actually allows me more time and creative freedom, a whole new level of growth was unlocked. I suddenly had more ease, more answers, and even more growth.

Entrepreneurship has been an incredible journey full of so many lessons that I had to learn the hard way and often times it felt like total darkness. But now I have so much wisdom to share. I AM LIGHT HERE NOW was inspired by the idea that even in the chaos or darkest times, even the tiniest bit of light still remains and you can align your business to the light step by step.

I BELIEVE THAT STRUCTURE CULTIVATES creativity and innovation.

My mission is to help illuminate the path for entrepreneurs to calm their chaos and add structure to their creative flow. I help them achieve their biggest goals, build resilience, and scale with confidence. Through strategic goal-setting, project development, and alignment audits, I help entrepreneurs stay organized and govern their empires with clarity and effectiveness.
